Start with an inspectable list
The card library links each reference back to a named printing and its source details. It is useful for discovering candidates, not for assuming the displayed amount is available from a buyer today. Compare like currencies and open the individual card before using a ranking.
Verify the copy in your hands
Read the printed collector number and set. Check whether the reference is normal or foil, graded or ungraded, and in your language. Inspect front, back, corners, and edges. A catalog image represents the printing, not the condition of your copy.
Use recent, relevant evidence
Compare multiple equivalent listings or completed sales when available. An unusually high asking price is not a completed sale. For scarce cards with little evidence, document the uncertainty and avoid turning an isolated data point into a collection total.
Record the reference, not a promise
