Grading
Is Grading Lorcana Cards Worth It?
Grading a Lorcana card is worth it when the graded price minus fees clearly beats the raw price, which in practice means chase Enchanted cards, top Legendary cards, and rare promos in genuinely near-mint condition. For everything else, grading costs more than it adds.

Quick take
- • Rule of thumb: only grade cards where a top grade would add materially more than the grading fee and shipping.
- • Condition honesty matters most — a card that comes back an 8 often sells for less than a clean raw NM copy.
- • Grading also serves non-financial goals: authentication, protection, and display.
The break-even math
Add up the grading fee, shipping both ways, insurance, and months of waiting. A card is a grading candidate when the realistic graded sale price at the grade you expect — not the grade you hope for — exceeds the raw price by more than that total.
- Grading fee per card
- Shipping and insurance both ways
- Turnaround time (capital locked up)
- Realistic grade, not best case
- Graded vs raw sold prices
Which Lorcana cards qualify
The candidates are the same cards that top the value rankings: chase Enchanted cards, marquee Legendary cards from early sets, and low-supply promos. Check the live most-valuable list and be brutally honest about condition before submitting.
PSA, BGS, or CGC for Lorcana
PSA carries the strongest resale premium recognition for TCG cards in most markets. BGS subgrades appeal to perfectionists, and CGC is often cheaper with solid turnaround. For a young game like Lorcana, buyer recognition of the label matters more than fine technical differences.
Before you submit
Identify the exact printing, confirm current raw market value, and photograph the card. Scanning does the identification and pricing in one step, which makes shortlisting grading candidates from a large collection fast.
