A chase card is a collector’s target, not an official rarity. Yours might be an Iconic printing, an Enchanted favorite, or the missing card that completes a binder page. A useful wishlist starts with your collecting goal.

Start with a theme
Choose a character, artist, film, set, or artwork treatment. A smaller target makes it easier to notice duplicates and resist purchases that do not fit the collection. The library’s character, artist, and set pages let you inspect actual printings.
Make the target specific
Write down the full name, collector number, language, finish, and acceptable condition. Check the set checklist to distinguish a missing normal copy from a missing foil. Premium-art versions can be separate catalog records.
Compare singles with the experience of opening
Buying a specific single gives a known target and quoted cost. Opening packs provides an experience with an uncertain result. Without reliable set-specific pull odds and costs, do not treat either a market ranking or a rare-card photo as an expected return calculation.
Review references before a trade
Use stored prices as a starting point and check the date, marketplace, and comparable copies. Keep favorite cards and trade duplicates organized in your collection so a wishlist does not become another source of accidental duplicates.
